There is major shopping with IKEA, Premier Outlet Mall, La Frontera, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Sam’s, HEB Plus (our wonderful grocery stores), Kohls, Hobby Lobby, Office Max, Office Depot, Petsmart, Petsco and just about anything else you could ask for.
Round Rock, Tx is rich in History
Originally, Round Rock was named after John Chisholm, it was a major trail and train depot where settlers and travelers alike would stop for the night. Then, notably it became the Chisholm Trail and renamed Round Rock. Yes, there really is a round rock which can be seen in Brushy Creek right off of IH 35.
Back when the west was wild, we are known for the Sam Bass Bank Robbery (which didn’t go so well.) Sam Bass is buried in one of the older cemeteries in town. And Brushy Creek still bears the ruts from the wagon wheels and can be seen in the rocks near the Round Rock. We are a city with much history.

What I love about Round Rock…
I live here and play here. I moved to Round Rock in 1987 from Austin to beat the traffic and rush. It is a great place to come home to. Since I moved here, Round Rock has grown to be a mecca for higher education with the recent addition of the Texas State University, the Texas A & M Medical Campus (see Picture #1 below), a new Nursing School, Scott & White Hospital and school, Austin Community Campus with many more learning institutions, laboratories and scientific endeavors to come.
